Regional Elections, a King and some Doctors

So today we’re going to be talking about regionalism and nationalism and referring back to yesterday’s regional elections in the Basque Country and Galicia.

I haven’t been able to travel to these other regions, but we can see from the elections that the patriotic vibe across the country has translated into regional votes in both Galicia and the Basque Country.

Podemos and Vox both did badly in the elections, yet Podemos had more to lose. These elections will have a knock on effect on national politics. That along with the EU, this gives the coalition government a lot to think about.

Then there is the previous king, Juan Carlos, who is being investigated by the Swiss police and the Supreme Court. If that wasn’t enough, the junior doctors are also taking the Madrid regional government to court over their right to strike for better work conditions and pay.

Take a listen to this election special and longer than normal episode.
